The centre focuses on technology innovations in the following areas:

media source (e.g. MPEG-7 encoding, collaborative visualisation)
media transport (e.g. wireless, mobile and broadband networks, Quality of Services, multicast)
media distribution
application services (e.g. videoconferencing)
